Polyester Air Textured Yarn (ATY) is a unique 100% polyester yarn produced using air deformation technology. It offers a strong plush and looped texture with a smooth hand feel, similar to cotton-like softness, available in both bright and semi-bright lusters. The air texturing process is achieved through an air deformation nozzle, where FDY yarn is blown open and disrupted by the air flow, creating permanent distortions, crimps, loops, coils, or crinkles on the yarns without destroying the essential continuity of the filaments.
Key advantages include high durability, wrinkle resistance, and eco-friendliness. Most importantly, ATY is typically cationic-dyeable, making it easy to dye and offering a broader range of color options.
Our ATY typically ranges from 300D to 1500D, placing it in the medium to high denier range. This thicker yarn is particularly suitable for home textiles like curtain fabrics and sofa upholstery. Fabrics made from ATY are generally thick, structured, and have excellent drape. The yarn’s easy dyeability also allows for greater versatility in color expression and selection.
